PSHE
At Abbey Hill, our PSHE curriculum aims to help children grow into healthy, confident, and responsible individuals. It equips them with the knowledge and skills to manage relationships, make informed choices, and stay safe. It reflects our school values of Resilience, Kindness, and Ambition and Pride by supporting wellbeing, empathy, and aspiration.
We use SCARF PSHE as our main scheme, chosen as it focuses on safety, caring, achievement, resilience and friendship as well as allowing for clear progression and an inclusive approach. We also adapt content to reflect our community context and school priorities.
Over time, pupils build their knowledge through the regular revisiting of key concepts. They apply their learning through discussions, role play, real-life scenarios, and cross-curricular links that prepare them for life beyond school.
As SCARF is a bought-in scheme, additional documentation can be shared in school with visitors but is not distributed via our website.
