Computing
At Abbey Hill, our Computing Curriculum equips Abbeyhillians to thrive in an increasingly digital world. It is built around three clear strands: Digital Literacy, Computing, and Information Technology. These ensure full coverage of the National Curriculum and a balanced development of knowledge and skills.
Our Digital Literacy strand is uniquely written in school, aligned to our topics and underpinned by the disciplinary knowledge of computing. The Computing strand is delivered using Rodocodo materials, which deepen pupils’ understanding of systems, networks and infrastructure. Finally, TeachComputing is used to develop computational thinking, including programming and coding. Across all three strands, we aim to build pupils’ skills and offer meaningful opportunities to apply them – both within computing and across the wider curriculum.
